The Salvation Army is best known for it’s work with the homeless, the addicted, and the poor. The Army operates in 108 countries, has 9,222 centers, and some 45,000 employees, while many thousands do volunteer work

Even though the Salvation Army has been active in the United States for more than 120 years,  its spirit is still young and in tune with contemporary needs. Locally, most of our efforts are in support of children, that are abused, neglected, or drug endangered.

Donations are committed to be used to assist local children who, through no fault or action of their own, have been removed from their homes by the State Department of Children Services, or local law enforcement.

Tragically, the great majority of cases is due to the child  abuse and neglect that is the result of parents who are involved in the use of, or manufacture of methamphetamine.

The U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency estimates that children are present in 30% of all meth labs seized, and that approximately 35% of those children test positive either for the drug itself, or the deadly chemicals used to manufacture it.

While it is true that the number of meth labs seized, and the number of those arrested for these crimes may rise and fall, the hurt and psychological damage  done to these children will last
a lifetime.
